New School allotment

Our new school allotment on Rainford Road is now almost complete and ready to be planted up. We have been working closely with members of the Community  Allotment Team and the John Eddleston Trust to establish the site so that our children can visit and grow vegetables and fruit throughout the year. We will be taking childen down there regularly to sow seeds, weed, learn about propogation; germination; seed dispersal and explore a whole host of of other scientific and environmental phenomena.

This is sweetcorn that was harvested from the plot next to ours!

The Eco council visited the new allotment and met some of the allotment committee.
